本研究室所有畢業生,平均都有一篇論文(或一篇以上)在國際著名的期刊發表,畢業後之學生約略統計,一半在學術界,另一半在企業界服務。
研究室注重研究態度,培養學習的好習慣,良好之互動,並互相切磋。本著誠與勤之精神,學生畢業後,不論是升學或就業,均會是被優先考慮之人選之一,是619研究室的尊嚴,也是研究室所有師生共同努力的目標。
於1983 ~ 至今 在法國巴黎大學、法國波爾多大學、美國麻州大學、日本北海道大學、英國杜安大學(Durham University)、德國柏林自由大學、日本東京工業大學、中國北京大學、德國漢堡大學、德國馬普研究所(緬因茲)(MAX-PLANCK INSTITUTE, Mainz)、德國緬因茲大學(University of Mainz)、中國武漢大學、英國劍橋大學(University of Cambridge)、日本神奈川大學及中國哈爾濱工程大學等大學之訪問教授。
於1978起,連續獲頒行政院國科會之甲等研究獎助,其中1988及1994年度獲國科會優等研究獎,1999年度(1999~2000年,二年)及2002年度(2002~2004年,三年)獲國科會傑出研究獎,2006年度獲國立台灣科技大學傑出研究及創作獎,2007年獲Highly Cited Papers之一 [Ind. Eng. Chem. Res., 43(7) (2004)] 並得到國立台灣科技大學之獎勵,2008年獲聘為國立台灣科技大學講座教授,2009年獲頒日本高分子學會 國際賞 [with Prof. J. M. J. Frechet (University of California, Berkeley,USA) and Prof. K. This laboratory’s research focuses mainly on the synthesis of new polymeric materials and on precision polymerization.
